At the beginning of this project, each group of four chose two organ systems. We chose the nervous and reproductive systems. We then had three days to learn about our systems, and create a proposal for a model that would show how they functioned and interacted with each other. Once two other groups had looked over our proposal and made suggestions, we were allowed to build our model, and make a presentation to show how it works, which can be seen below.
Concepts Used:
Organ System: An organ system is a number of organs working together to perform a specific purpose. In the human body there are 11 major systems.
Nervous System: The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. The brain is in charge of recieving signals, processing information. The spinal cord transmits signal from the peripheral nerves to the brain, and the peripheral nerves recieves inputs from sensory organs.
Reproductive System: The reproductive system consists of the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, testes, epididymis, vas deferens, urethra, and the penis. This is an interesting system, as it is the only organ system that differs between males and females. The purpose of the reproductive system is to continue the species. It does this by allowing females to mature eggs, and males to produce sperm.

Reflections:
In this project, I feel that I improvised fairly well. This was the first real building project of the year, and we didn't have many resources. I brought a lot of things in, and figured out how to make it all work. Another thing I did well was making connections. Since our model represented the nervous system using electricity, I had to learn how to make good electrical connections. I feel I did this very well. Something I didn't do well in this project was Finding things for others to do. Some of the members of my group wanted to help build things, but I wasn't good at finding things for them to do, because I was focusing on what I was trying to do. Another thing I failed at was finding tools. In the beginning of our project, we needed a box cutter. I tried to find one for all of five minutes before giving up and doing something else. In the future, I will have to try harder to find important resources.
