Technical Theater can be seen as more of an after school program than a class. It meets mostly on Wednesdays, for an indefinite period of time, though it can require attendance on other days as well. Regardless, this is a class, and it does offer an art credit, which I needed to graduate. So I signed up, and was surprised by how enjoyable technical theater was. The basis of the class is to enable the drama classes to put on shows. Whether this means working on costumes, doing scene transitions, making or locating props, dealing with lights and sound- whatever it is, if it's related to the theater and it isn't acting, it's probably tech's job. This means the work can vary wildly, based on the production. While I was in the class, we helped advanced drama put on "AP Theater" and "How To Succeed At High School Without Really Trying". Some of our members also went to Linea, but I passed on that opportunity. The class was led by Mrs. Norman.
